Waiting…
April 10th, 2007 by angew10.So I just sent in the last part of my dental paper work, still waiting on medical clearance, and I was wondering if anyone could let me know about how long it usually takes to recieve an invitation after all the paper work is handed in (I sent in my medical packet in the end of Feb).
I am also getting a little bit antsy because my tentative departure date is June and I haven’t recieved an invitation yet….so if anyone has any feedback, I would really appreciate it!

My husband and I sent in our medical packet in October of 2006 and we just got our medical clearance April 4th. We got our invitation April 6th! (Of course, medical clearance takes longer for married couples but that is still longer than we expected it to take.) We were told when we were nominated that our departure date would be mid May to June and the longer we waited the more I thought it would be June… Well, we are departing May 14th!
I got kind of worried about it taking so long too but everything worked out great for us and I hope it works out for you too! Remember this is a great time to exercise some of those Peace Corps qualities like patience and flexibility…
