Hello! I too will be off with the Peace Corps to Mozambique in September and am so thrilled! What is your position? According to my invitation I will be teaching English. Hope this finds you well,

COngrats to all of you on your assignments. Just curious as to how long it took from application sent in to receiving your assigment to actually leaving? Thanks.

Hey Nicolette,
I know it varies from person to person, but in my case, I sent my application in November, received an invitation in July (about a week after getting medically cleared) and my assignment is for the end of September (so in total a little under a year). Medical clearance takes the longest, but I would just say make sure you are on top of your paperwork. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!

I am looking into the peace corps and currently doing research and was wondering if any of you “picked” africa? Did you put it on a first or second choice?
