I know it is very, very challenging to serve without one. Ironically, your husband probably would make an incredibly effective volunteer with his construction skills- much more so than most brand new english major college graduates- but I have to be honest, I think the chances of his getting in are quite slim. I don't think the military experience is in his favor, either. I wish both of you the best of luck, though!
