Peace Corps Wedding in Guyana
April 2nd, 2005 by Scott Stadum.On Saturday, April 2nd I attended the traditional Hindu wedding between a Peace Corps volunteer friend and a Guyanese friend, Niki and Ian. It was an exceptional day, as Niki asked that I give her away at the wedding as her father would not be attending. I was honored and thrilled to do so.
The wedding was amazing, I had never been to a Hindu wedding. It was exotic yet elegant and very fascinating. Peace Corps volunteers from around the country came in the curta’s and sari’s.
After the wedding we celebrated by eating Seven Currie from a Lotus leaves. It was a wonderful experience.
