undies everywhere!

May 8th, 2005 by bulgaria1020.

I was at a bar with the other PCV’s and goats just suddenly started crossing the street. Weirdest thing ever. Even weirder was that as we watched, no goat hearder ever appeared. There were just 25 goats walking around town. NOONE HAD A CAMERA! Next time folks, next time.

My host mom makes me put my sheets comforter and pillows away in a chest every morning.

Stephanie (fellow pcv) only dislikes hazelnuts, feta cheese, and liver. There are the most popular foods in Bulgaria. Of course i dont like liver either but my family has never eaten it. Thank goodness!!

My host dad was walking around in his underwear the other day. JUST his underwear. No one seemed to think it was strange but me.

I bought some fruit juice at the local store and brought it home. This turned out very favorably for me. Ever since my family have been supplying me with fruit. They bought some apples. They have a lot of canned fruit that they put in a pitcher and blend for homemade juice. It rocks.

We have a wash machine but no dryer. What does this mean for the fantastic girl? It means that my underwear was hanging for all the town to see yesterday. Thankgod my nana hooked me up with underwear before i left. Ladies to not bring your sexy underwear to countries without dryers. Luckily i had the sense to leave all the sexy stuff at home :-)

I want to help around the house but my host mother refuses my help. I was trying to help her hang MY sheets on a clothesline and she wouldnt let me. She told me that she was only showing me how, but then she will do it. They dont let me clear my place at the table a lot of times either.

All day long i study and study. I found out that i’m the slow one in my group. Well not really the slow one, but i am behind the other three in my group in language class. I’m going to atribute this to the fact that they all worked on the language prior to comming here. So they knew the alphabet before we even got to this country. I just got all the letters down on tuesday. But in my defense, they all knew they were comming here dec/jan and i found out in march. So now in addition to the 8 hours a day we are in class, i will have to do extra class after class. Trust me, that’s not cool!

Did you know that donkeys really do make that obnoxious he-haw sound. There is a donkey on my way to school everyday that i see. He kinda creeps me out.

I dont believe that i mentioned that my house has pigs, roosters (that crow all the time), chickens, a cat and a dog. Plus we have 2 greenhouses and a family farm.

Sorry this post is so scattered. I only had 1/2 hour at the internet today!!! I love all your emails and comments!!
