Guinee 2007
January 8th, 2007 by fdbrizzi.I was supposed to leave for Guinea on January 13th but the workers’ strike scheduled in Conakry on January 10th has delayed the departure date for PCVs to a temptative February 3rd. Anyone else in the same situation? Or has anyone had a similar issue? Should I be freaking out about this? I’m done with waiting!

I know how you feel…I’m in the same Guinea group and am eagerly waiting to leave the states. I hope everything works out for our new departure date on February 3rd. See you in Philly!

Hey Rivka,
It looks like Guinea’s government is going down. What do you think Peace Corps is going to do with us? Where you able to contact Jennifer? Hopefully they can deal with these situations effectively. Let me know if you hear anything. Good luck to you.

Jennifer told me they’d make a decision and let us know by the end of this week (that was in an e-mail on Monday)

Have you guys heard anything from the Peace Corps…I’m joining the program going to Uganda on March 3rd. I hope everything works out for you and they place you quickly…good luck!
