Water Sanitation in the Caribbean and Central America
June 25th, 2008 by gibblins.Hello,
I’m awaiting my placement and job. I’ve been nominated for Water Sanitation in the Caribbean and Central America. I was wondering if there were any current volunteers or returned volunteers in the department that could help me out with some questions.
What were some of the methods you used to cope with the numerous cultural pressures and other challenges as well as not being in communication with friends and family? What’s it like serving in the Peace Corps?
Thanks a lot!!

HI Andy,
I have been nominated and have qualified for Caribbean in FEb 2009. I qualified a month and a half ago and I am waiting for my assignment and location information. I have been reading books written by other PC volunteers and they ahve really helped to give me an idea of how life can/will/might be. I went into Amazon.com and googled Peace Corps. There are many. I also got some from the local Library. How long has it been from the time y ou qualified until current? The waiting is a killer. I guess we are training in patience.
