Tattoo again!! HELP!!
August 30th, 2006 by jenny.So I am glad that was cleared up but I already sent in my packet and the part about the identifying marks was for the doctor. He justed checked normal and didnt write anything about my TWO tattoos. I should have paid more attention but if I call the Peace Corp office to tell them do you think that they will send my paperwork back to me or just fill it in for me. Or should I suggest that I write a small paragraph to them about my tattoos?

I wouldn’t sweat the tattoos! Unless of course they are stretching across your neck, forehead or otherwise prominent body parts…
This is just my gut sense of the PC tattoo policy. For my country, there is a suggestion in the welcome packet that you not have “visible” tattoos but I interpret this to mean that 1. as long as you are a qualified candidate you are probably still ok and 2. your tattoos are not offensive or would most likely not be perceived as such, you’ll also be fine.
Actually, its probably a good idea to call your recruiter because s/he will be the best resource here.. plus at this point they are pretty much neutral in a sense, meaning right now your qualification depends on what DC has to say about your status, etc. so your recruiter can be of utmost help still…
