Doubts on Position
August 24th, 2006 by JessPon.When I sent in my application I was qualified for Health/HIV, Community Development, and Business. When I go I will be fresh out of college, having earned a Bachelors in Business, so I am probably most qualified for a position with Business.
When I went for my interview and they asked me to rank, I choose to rank it like this, 1. Health/HIV 2. Community Development 3. Business.
I am starting to think that maybe I may have made a mistake and should be going to work in the Business sector. Business is what I do, it’s what I know, and I enjoy it.
Anybody have any advice? And is it too late for me to change my mind? Or am I just getting jitters?
My thought process was I could make a bigger difference and contribution working with HIV/AIDS because it is killing my people. But, perhaps Business would make just as strong of a difference. Anybody have any opinions or advice?

It’s late to change now but when you get in-country, if they have a business program you may be able to swith then. Also, don’t forget about your secondary projects, you can focus on business and keep yourself very busy. You’ll never really run out of things to do.
