July will be here in no time. Is there anyone else scheduled for West Africa (July 2006). I will be involved in Economic Development.

    My wife and I are going in July too, but I’m Environment/Forestry, and my wife is teaching English. We’ll be just out of college, ready for some real challenge for a change.

    As of right now I’m also heading out for West Africa in July 2006. I have not received my country placement yet but that is where they think I’m heading. I will be helping with the community development area, specifically in non-formal youth education. Best of luck to all!

    I’m nominated for water/sanitation in french-speaking West Africa in July. I’m not to confident I’ll make it though, as I am still waiting to hear back about my medical clearance.

    Sounds like West Africa is in for a real treat. I’m still waiting for my mediacal clearance as well (I hope I will still meet deadline). I really hope everything works out for all of us.

    I’m also headed to francophone Africa working in Water Resources Management. I’m waiting for my medical clearance, (i’ve become a little ancy). No country specifics yet.
    Jennifer it sounds like we’re doing the same project area do you know any specifics about what you’re doing or where you’re going?

    Hi, my husband and I are scheduled to leave end of June for french speaking West Africa. We’re still waiting for medical clearance too. It’s painful.

    I’m scheduled to leave end of June for french speaking West Africa to work in the Health Extension Program and am really excited. I’m also waiting for the medical clearance however which is making me pretty nervous. Good luck to all!

    I’m leaving for Burkina Faso in June as well - participating in the Girls’ Education and Empowerment program.

    My sympathies on the waiting - definitely the worst part of the process.

    sorry to say i was relieved to know others who have departure dates before mine (July) are still waiting for medical clearance. It’s been really hard waiting. I will be going to Africa where I will live for 2+ years and I sitll don’t know where!!! argh. anyway good luck to everyone in the waiitng process.
