Here’s a third heading for Philadelphia, then Tanzania in mid-September. I have not started packing, but I have started preparing for the trip. I began by buying a few skirts… Has anyone thought to buy a shortwave radio or water filter? I’m considering buying both.
short wave radio may be worth bringing.
water filter may not– some Tz volunteers used a brita filter brought from home, but they wore out quickly. and you can find porcelain candles (ie, water filters) in the major cities in tanzania.
I, too, will be teaching math in TZ. I haven’t purchased a shortwave radio or water filter, what do you think the primary method of water sanitation will be - boiling or filter or ….?
