Morocco

April 28th, 2007 by talbotts.

I was a Morocco Peace corps volunteer from 75 to 77.  I worked in a Lycee with 1st and 2nd year students.  I had a neat little apartment replete with cockroaches and the occasional “farr”.  But I also had a neat little Moroccan dog named Sapphire.  Sapphire was stolen out of my yard one day, but I found her in the marche with a Moroccan girl.  I went to the guards/police in the marche and showed them a picture of Sapphire and me and I got her back.  It has been 30 years since my return, but ah, how the memories linger. A life-changing experience.

You should go back to see if it is indeed the same Morocco your memory is describing! By the way, cockroaches are borderless, I am sure with a little effort or rather negligence they will come to you.
